The background color represents humidity.

Green - low humidity

Yellow - medium humidity

Red - high humidity

I don't show the titles, but I'd still want to see the temperature displayed as a number on the icon.

The new version of WeatherBar is almost here and it supports an extension model based on MEF (Managed Extensibility Framework). This means that it is no longer tied to Google Weather API, but can be extended to use any other weather service that provides a web API and exposes a set of weather conditions.

Now, I personally only use the Google Weather plugin at the moment, but it'd be really cool if users would be able to choose between the weather data providers.

If you, the developer, are interested in developing a WeatherBar plugin, please contact me at ddelimarsky ^at^ live.com and I will send you the development guidelines as well as the SDK.

What's in it for you? The plugin will be tested and re-compiled, and will be bundled as a part next release of WeatherBar - of course, giving credit to the plugin developer.

This is a great little app. Thank you for sharing this!! One problem I am seeing is this... Its 10:48 here in Indianapolis, IN and the WeatherBar is showing the sun behind the clouds and the icon is half red... Not sure if thats a bug or what... but thought i'd share my findings with you ..

Yes, I am aware of this problem. Due to some current limitations, I will be changing some stuff to correctly display the conditions when pinned, however those won't be placed directly in the taskbar. To keep it working correctly, it shouldn't be pinned at the moment.

Also, thanks for the startup suggestion, I will add that in the next release.

When you "pin" the application to the task-bar, it replaces the icon with the application icon, not sure how you fix that, but probably need to either do that or add an option to start on start up.

I fixed the issue by pinning the .exe to the taskbar while looking at it in windows explorer. It wouldn't let me do that via the icon on the taskbar.
